Frank Howard and Mike Epstein each hit a two-run homer to carry the Senators to a 5-3 victory over the Twins, who went down to their fifth straight defeat. Ed Stroud singled ahead of Howard's homer in the first. After the Twins tied the score, Lee Maye was safe on an error in the sixth and crossed the plate on a double by Howard. Epstein followed with his circuit clout. [The Sporting News] |
