Bob Priddy allowed only one hit in six innings of relief pitching and was rewarded with credit for his first victory since May 8 when the Braves beat the Expos, 8-7. Hank Aaron drove in three runs for the Braves with a homer and a single, raising his career RBI total to 1,827, tying him with Al Simmons for eighth place on the all-time list.

Phil Niekro, who started for the Braves, was kayoed with none out in the third inning when Bobby Wine batted in two runs with a single to put the Expos ahead. 6-5. Gil Garrido tied the score with a triple in the sixth and Aaron singled to give the lead to the Braves. Clete Boyer then batted the deciding run home with a single in the seventh.
