Milt Pappas pitched a seven-hitter and smashed one of the Cubs' three homers in a 6-3 victory over the Giants. Ken Henderson singled with the bases loaded to drive in two runs for the Giants in the first inning, but Pappas hit his homer after Ron Santo was safe on an error to tie the score in fourth. Billy Williams cracked the tie with a circuit clout in the fifth and Santo provided the winning blow by hitting a homer with two men on base in the seventh.
