An error by Eddie Leon permitted the Brewers to score with two out in the 11th inning to gain a 4-3 victory over the Indians. Tito Francona opened the stanza with a pinch-double and gave way to Max Alvis, who advanced to third on a bunt by Ted Kubiak. After an intentional pass to Jerry McNertney, Tommy Harper struck out, but Mike Hegan then hit a sharp grounder that bounced off Leon's glove, allowing Alvis to cross the plate.
