A scoreless duel between Tom Murphy and Sam McDowell was broken when Alex Johnson smashed a homer in the seventh inning to spark the Angels to a 3-0 victory over the Indians. The Angels added another run in that same stanza when Vada Pinson crashed into Eddie Leon while chasing a pop fly by Murphy and the ball fell for a single, Jim Spencer scoring.
