An error by left fielder Bernie Carbo on a line drive with the bases loaded in the fifth inning allowed three runs to score and enabled the Expos to defeat the Reds, 7-4. There were seven errors in the game, four by the Reds. In the fifth, after John Boccabella and Gary Sutherland singled and Adolfo Phillips doubled for one run, the Reds issued an intentional pass to Bob Bailey, loading the bases. Coco Laboy followed with a drive that Carbo first misjudged and then failed to catch. [The Sporting News]
