Chuck Hinton, who entered the game as a defensive replacement at first base in the ninth inning, came to bat in the 10th and rapped a run-scoring single to give the Indians a 6-5 victory over the Athletics. The Indians hit four homers -- one by Vada Pinson in the first and three in succession by Duke Sims, Graig Nettles and Eddie Leon in the sixth. The A's had round-trippers by Bert Campaneris and Don Mincher. Roy Foster drew a pass in the the 10th and advanced on a wild pitch.
