A bomb scare forced a 43-minute delay in the fourth inning, but the only bomb that exploded was a homer by Tony Conigliaro in the eighth, giving the Red Sox a 1-0 victory over the Twins. The crowd of 17,697 evacuated the stands after an announcement over the public address system that a telephoned warning had been received that a bomb was due to go off. [The Sporting News]
