Joe Moeller was spiked on a play at first base with one out in the eighth inning, forcing him to leave the game, but Jim Brewer retired the last five straight batters to complete the Dodgers' 4-1 victory over the Cubs. The Dodgers loaded the bases in the fourth and scored two runs, one when Billy Grabarkewitz grounded into a double play and the other when Von Joshua singled.
