. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The relief pitching of Grant Jackson, who held the Reds scoreless over the last 5 1/3 innings, enabled the Phillies to gain a 6-3 victory. Deron Johnson hit a two-run homer for the Phillies in the first. Doubles by Larry Hisle and Lowell Palmer added a marker in the second.

After the Reds kayoed Palmer and tied the score in the fourth, the Phillies came back with three runs in their half. Don Money singled and counted the tie-breaking tally on a double by Larry Hisle. After a pass to Mike Compton and forceout by Jackson, Hisle scored on another forceout by Larry Bowa. A single by Tony Taylor and a wild pitch allowed Bowa to score the final tally.
