The Astros, who got five-hit pitching from Larry Dierker, edged the Expos, 5-4. Jim Wynn and John Mayberry hit consecutive homers for the Astros in the fourth inning, but the Expos took the lead with three runs in their half on a single by Rusty Staub, pass to Bob Bailey, a wild pitch and a boundary belt by John Bateman.
