. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Juan Marichal became the second active pitcher in the major leagues with 200 career victories, joining Jim Bunning of the Phillies, when the Giants defeated the Pirates, 5-1. Dick Dietz led the Giants' attack in support of Marichal, driving in two runs with a pair of singles. The victory was the sixth straight for Marichal, who yielded the Pirates' lone run on a homer by Manny Sanguillen in the seventh inning. [The Sporting News]
