Led by Frank Howard, who batted in five runs, the Senators walloped the Royals, 11-4. Howard started his slugging with a two-run homer in the first inning. After the Royals tied the score, the Senators exploded for six runs in the fifth. A triple by Tim Cullen, a walk and a single by Ed Stroud broke the tie.
