A homer by Frank Howard with a man on base climaxed a four-run outburst in the fifth inning and enabled the Senators to defeat the Indians, 5-4. Aurelio Rodriguez homered for the Nats' initial run in the second. Jim French walked in the fifth and, after two outs, the Senators broke loose. Ed Stroud doubled to score French and Del Unser singled to plate Stroud before Howard wrapped things up with his homer. Graig Nettles hit a two-run homer for the Indians. [The Sporting News]
