. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Four hours after reporting from the minors, Mike Paul started for the Indians, pitched 8 1/3 innings and received credit for a 4-3 victory over the Senators. The Indians scored two unearned runs in the second inning and won the game when Vada Pinson tripled with two men on base in the eighth. The victory, with the help of Rick Austin, was Paul's first with the Indians this season. The young lefthander lost four games before being sent to Wichita (American Association) on July 16.
