Jake Gibbs, who broke one tie with a homer, snapped another with a run-scoring single to enable the Yankees to defeat the Indians, 3-2. The Indians counted in the first inning on singles by Ted Uhlaender and Chuck Hinton, around an infield out, and the Yankees came back with a run in the second on a walk, a single by Danny Cater and a grounder by Frank Baker.

After Gibbs hit his homer in the third, the Indians pulled even in the fifth on a single by Graig Nettles, an infield out and a single by Duke Sims. Jerry Kenney singled for the Yankees in the seventh and moved to third on a sacrifice and a long fly before scoring the winning run on Gibbs' single. [The Sporting News]
