Pinch-hitting, Reggie Jackson smashed a grand-slam homer in the eighth inning to climax the Athletics' attack in 8-3 victory over the Royals. The A's held a 3-1 lead after five frames, but Ed Kirkpatrick homered for the Royals in the sixth and Rich Severson drove in a run with a single to tie the score in the seventh.
