Bill Stoneman, who had not been a winner since June 18, pitched the Expos to a 6-0 victory over the Cardinals. Frank Bertaina dueled with Stoneman until the sixth inning when a run scored on a double by Rusty Staub and a single by Bob Bailey. The Expos then iced the decision with five more runs in the seventh with an attack that included doubles by Gary Sutherland, Adolfo Phillips and Bailey. [The Sporting News]
