Bob Johnson, who pitched a three-hitter and struck out 10, also batted in two runs with a single as the Royals ended 
a five-game losing streak by defeating the Angels, 4-1. The loss was the fourth in a row for the California club. Johnson hit his single with the bases loaded in the second inning and Pat Kelly followed with a single for another counter. Ed Kirkpatrick added the Royals' last run with a homer in the eighth.
