Willie Mays hit his 25th and 26th homers, driving in five runs, to pace the Giants to a 9-5 victory over the Astros. Mays connected for the circuit in the first inning after a pass to Bobby Bonds, and homered again in the fourth following a walk to Hal Lanier and single by Tito Fuentes. Willie McCovey, who was out of the lineup with a sore ankle, drove in two runs with a pinch-double in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
