With the help of catcher Andy Etchebarren, who hit the deciding homer, Dave McNally pitched the Orioles past the Yankees, 2-1, for his 22nd victory. Brooks Robinson doubled and Chico Salmon singled for the Orioles' initial run in the second inning. Etchebarren added his homer in the fifth before the Yankees picked up their run in the seventh on a single by John Ellis and double by Ron Hansen. [The Sporting News]
