A seventeen-hit attack that included homers by Roy Foster, Ted Uhlaender, Vada Pinson and John Lowenstein powered the Indians to a 13-4 victory over the Senators. Uhlaender hit his homer with a man on base and drove in two more runs with a single. Lowenstein's homer, after a pass to Duke Sims in the sixth inning, was the first in the major leagues for the rookie infielder. Sims batted in three runs with a double in the seventh. Frank Howard hit his 41st and 42nd homers for the Senators, driving in three runs, to bring his RBI total to a career high of 121. [The Sporting News] |
