A double by Don Buford and single by Mark Belanger broke up a 13-inning game and gave the Orioles a 3-2 victory over the Red Sox. Chico Salmon and Boog Powell homered for the Orioles' first two runs. Bob Montgomery hit his first major league homer for the Red Sox in the fifth and the tying run followed in the eighth on a double by Carl Yastrzemski and single by Rico Petrocelli.
