Frank Johnson, playing in place of the ailing Willie McCovey, drove in two runs with a bases-loaded single in the sixth inning when the Giants scored four times to outlast the Braves, 7-5. With the game tied, 3-3, Hal Lanier, Frank Reberger and Bobby Bonds hit singles to load the bases. Willie Mays walked, forcing in the tie-breaking tally. Johnson then rapped his single for two runs and another scored on a wild pitch. [The Sporting News]
