Tommy Harper led off with a double, Dave May walked and Ted Savage was safe on an error by Paul Schaal, Harper crossing the plate. Roberto Pena batted in two runs with a single and, after a pass to Phil Roof, Ted Kubiak singled with two out to send Pena home with what proved to be the winning run. [The Sporting News]
