The Orioles became first club since the 1956 Indians to have three 20-game winners when Jim Palmer defeated the Indians, 7-0. The victory was the 20th for Palmer, who entered the charmed circle with teammates Mike Cuellar and Dave McNally, each of whom had won 23 games. Palmer allowed four hits.
