With Bert Blyleven pitching a three-hitter, the Twins beat the White Sox, 8-1, and reduced their magic number to three for clinching the West division title. The Twins' attack in support of their rookie included a homer by Paul Ratliff and three hits apiece by Cesar Tovar, Tony Oliva and Jim Holt.
