A triple by Roger Repoz, who drove in two runs in the eighth inning, enabled the Angels to outlast the Brewers, 7-6. Repoz also had a run-scoring single in the fourth. Jay Johnstone hit a pinch-homer for the Angels with a man on base in the seventh and Tom Murphy followed with another circuit clout.

Phil Roof homered for the Brewers with two aboard in the fourth, while Tommy Harper accounted for their last three runs with a pair of round-trippers. [The Sporting News]
