A pair of two-run homers by Tony Conigliaro powered the Red Sox to a 4-3 victory over the Senators, who went down to their seventh straight defeat. Carl Yastrzemski walked ahead of a round-tripper by Conigliaro in the first inning and was on base with a single when Tony connected again for the circuit in the third. The Senators kayoed Roger Moret and scored all their runs in the fourth, but Vicente Romo allowed only two hits in 5 1/3 innings of relief to gain the decision. [The Sporting News]
