. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Red Sox smashed four homers and set a new club record with 201 for the season in romping to a 10-1 victory over the Senators, who lost their 10th straight game. Gary Peters, who pitched for the Red Sox, homered with two men on base. George Scott drove in five runs with two round-trippers. Tony Conigliaro rapped the other homer, plus three singles. The former Red Sox mark for circuit clouts was 197 in 1969. [The Sporting News]
