Bobby Mitchell, hitting two doubles and a single, drove in three runs and Roy White contributed a homer as the Yankees defeated the Tigers, 4-2. Mitchell's first RBI on a double in fourth inning tied the score at 1-1. White broke the deadlock with his homer in the fifth. Mitchell doubled again for another run in the sixth and drove in the Yankees' final tally with a single in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
