. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Athletics, coming from behind on a two-run double by Reggie Jackson in ninth inning, defeated the Brewers, 5-4, and finished the season with 89 victories, the most for the club since 1932 when the Philadelphia A's won 94 games. The Brewers, who scored three unearned runs on as many errors by Jim Driscoll, led, 4-1, until the eighth when Bobby Brooks homered for the A's with a man on base. Then, in the ninth, Joe Rudi singled, Sal Bando walked and Jackson drove them home with his double. [The Sporting News]
