Spring practice at bunting paid off for Dock Ellis, who plated one run with a squeeze and set up two others with sacrifices while pitching the Pirates to a 4-2 victory over the Phillies. A crowd of 39,712 turned out for the Pirates' lidlifter in windy, 39-degree weather.
