Playing before a home-opening crowd of 40.566, the Brewers scored on a bases-loaded pass in the eighth inning to defeat the Angels, 4-3. Tommy Harper walked, Bernie Smith singled, Dave May sacrificed and Andy Kosco drew an intentional pass to load the bases. Mel Queen relieved Clyde Wright and struck out Bill Voss, but then walked Roberto Pena on six pitches to force in the winning run. [The Sporting News]
