A wild pitch by Wayne Granger with the bases loaded and two out in the 11th inning allowed Donn Clendenon to score and gave the Mets a 3-2 victory over the Reds. Granger had a two-strike count on Jerry Grote when his inside pitch shot pass catcher Johnny Bench and rolled to the screen. After the game, Bench said he signaled for a fastball, but Granger missed the sign and threw a curve instead. [The Sporting News]
