Playing their first game in new Veterans Stadium, the Phillies delighted the crowd of 55,352 by defeating the Expos, 4-1. Don Money homered in the sixth inning to tie the score at 1-1 and the Phillies then loaded the bases and pushed over two more runs on a single by Roger Freed and sacrifice fly by Tim McCarver.
