The Cubs handed Bill Singer his third straight defeat by coming from behind to edge the Dodgers, 3-2. The Dodgers picked up their runs in the first inning, but the Cubs pulled even with the aid of a homer by Joe Pepitone and then scored the deciding run in the eighth on a pass to Jose Ortiz, a sacrifice and a single by Don Kessinger.
