The clutch pitching of Joe Gibbon, who worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning, saved the Reds' 5-4 victory over the Braves. After the Braves scored three runs, Gibbon relieved and issued an intentional pass to fill the sacks, but then induced Hal King to ground into a rally-killing double play. Johnny Bench hit his third homer in two days for the Reds and Hank Aaron smashed one for the Braves. [The Sporting News]
