. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Five homers, including one by Nelson Briles, who pitched in relief and gained his first victory in a Pittsburgh uniform, powered the Pirates past the Phillies, 9-3. Other round-trippers were hit by Jackie Hernandez, Manny Sanguillen, Bob Robertson and Willie Stargell. Sanguillen connected with two aboard in the fifth inning and Hernandez broke a 3-3 tie with a three-run smash in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
