Run-scoring singles by Joe Rudi and Reggie Jackson with two out in the eighth inning brought the Athletics a 4-3 victory over the Twins. Dick Green singled and was on second with two away when Rudi came through with his hit to tie the score. Rudi advanced to second on the throw home and counted the deciding run on Jackson's single.
