After pitching no-hit ball for 6 1/3 innings, Jim Perry gave up a single by Alex Johnson and then was knocked out in the eighth when the Angels scored three runs to defeat the Twins, 4-1. Jerry Moses and Tony Gonzalez singled in the eighth and Sandy Alomar tripled them home. A single by Jim Fregosi scored Alomar. When Johnson also singled, Perry was lifted.
