In a swap of shutouts, the Senators won the opener of a doubleheader, 4-0, on Denny McLain's three-hitter and the Indians took the nightcap, 1-0, on a one-hitter by Steve Dunning, who pitched his first complete game in the major leagues. Dunning, who went right from Stanford University to the Indians last June, gave up a single by Tommy McCraw in the second inning. Six other batters reached base on walks. [The Sporting News]
