After four straight losses, Bill Singer gained his first victory of the season when the Dodgers defeated the Padres, 10-2. Dick Allen drove in three runs, two of them with a homer, and also threw out two men at the plate in the fifth inning to frustrate the Padres, who were able to score only once in that frame on a double and three singles.
