Ken Singleton, who hit a two-run homer earlier in the game, singled Tommie Agee across the plate in the 12th inning to give the Mets a 7-6 victory over the Cubs. Agee led off the frame with a single and Bud Harrelson sacrificed. Following an intentional pass to Cleon Jones, Donn Clendenon fouled out, but Singleton then ripped his single.
