Roger Repoz hit a grand-slam in the ninth inning to carry the Angels to a 7-4 victory over the Orioles. Mike Cuellar, who started for the Orioles, was lifted after Alex Johnson singled to open the ninth.

Dick Hall failed in relief. Tony Conigliaro beat out an infield hit and, after Jim Fregosi sacrificed, Hall walked Ken McMullen intentionally, setting the stage for the slam. [The Sporting News]
