Vda Blue, the Athletics' 21-year-old southpaw, boosted his record to 5-1 with his third shutout of the season, pitching a four-hitter to beat the Orioles, 1-0. Blue paved the way for the lone run with a safe bunt in the sixth inning. Bert Campaneris also bunted safely. Blue tried to steal thid and was thrown out, but Campaneris advanced to second on the play and scored on a two-out single by Reggie Jackson. [The Sporting News]
