The three-hit pitching of Rudy May featured the Angels' 8-0 victory over the Indians. Although scoring a run in the first inning, the Angels did not collect a hit off Steve Dunning until the fifth when they piled up four runs. Roger Repoz led off with a walk and Ken McMullen singled. After the runners advanced on a groundout, Repoz scored on a passed ball. McMullen came home on a single by Sandy Alomar, and Jim Spencer then climaxed the stanza with a two-run homer.
