The Brewers executed the first triple play in the major leagues this season, but that was their only consolation in a 10-3 loss to the Red Sox. In the third inning, George Scott doubled and reached third when Don Pavletich was safe on an error.

Billy Conigliaro then bounced to Rick Auerbach, who tossed to Ted Kubiak, forcing Pavletich. Kubiak's relay to Mike Hegan at first retired Conigliaro. Scott, making a belated dash for home, was nailed at the plate for the third out on Hegan's throw to Ellie Rodriguez. [The Sporting News]
