The Expos, who were trailing, 6-1, after six innings, rallied to defeat the Cubs, 7-6, capping their comeback with three runs in the ninth. After narrowing the Cubs' lead with one run in the seventh and two in the eighth, the Expos began their ninth-inning rally with one-out singles by Ron Hunt and Rusty Staub.
