. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Billy Williams hit two homers and a double in support of Fergie Jenkins as the Cubs defeated the Phillies, 7-4. Williams accounted for the Cubs' first run with a homer in the first inning and then doubled and scored on a single by Joe Pepitone in the fourth. With the Phillies leading, 4-2, the Cubs rallied to take charge with four runs in the fifth. A single by Danny Breeden, error on a bunt by Jenkins and a single by Glenn Beckert produced one run before Williams added three more with a homer. [The Sporting News]
